Chris~Craft built 260 of these boats between 1957-1959. They measured 32’1” length with 11’1” beams with a 26” draft.
They held 135 gallons of fuel and could be purchased with a variety of engine options but all came with two engines.
This is one of only two models of this boat known to have ever been built. The model is at a scale of 1”= 1’and was “scratch” built from the original Chris~Craft plans obtained from
the Chris~Craft museum. The model is set on a ¾” by 10 ¼” by 34”mahogany base.
All colors are original Chris~Craft colors. The aft
deck and main salon deck are varnished teak. The cabin top and forward canvas covered decks are Chris~Craft gull gray.
The forward deck has simulated
canvas decking like the original boat. The windows are plastic for safety reasons. The stern is mahogany planked.
The interior salon of the first model (which was built for a client
who owned a full size one) was entirely furnished as the original craft including head, sofa, table and benches, countertop,
cabinets and sink with faucets, all in original colors.
This particular model contains
two electric motors, is radio controlled, has engine sound system w/horn and all lights work, and the exhaust pumps water
out. The model shows some “wear and tear” as it is usually “out on the pond” on weekends.
This model took 2nd place in international competition of the Ship Modelers Forum in
2000. There is also a picture of the model on the inside cover of the July/August 2002 issue of Seaways “Ships in Scale”.
No more of these models are available.
