  • Chris~Craft built 160 of these particular length cruisers from 1951 through 1953 with an unknown number having flying bridges. The Cruiser was 41’10” with a 12’ beam and a 2’6” draft.  Weight was 18,900lbs and was powered by twin Chris~Craft MLR gasoline engines and was “capable of speeds of 23 miles per hour”, according to the 1958 CC catalog.  The sides were ¾” batten-seamed mahogany; the bottoms were 1” double planked mahogany. Sleeping capacity was 8 with a fuel capacity of 225 gallons.

This model is one of three known  of this boat to have ever been built. The original model was made to order for a boat owner who has the full size one; the second one bought by a collector, and this one will be kept by the builder. The model was scratch built from original plans and specifications obtained from the Mariners Museum and input from current boat owners.

The model is to a scale of 1”=1’ and is 42” long with a 12” beam.  The decks are all hand planked mahogany and the forward deck has over 11 coats of spar varnish.  The interior salon and rear cabin are fully furnished the same as the original boat including sofa, dining table, interior console, blinds, curtains, topside console w/instrument gages, ladder, two bunks with pillows , dresser, night stand, rear step ladder, mirror, make up table, carpeted floors, two topside benches, interior side blinds and curtains as the original boat was.  All three lower exterior doors slide open and closed. Additionally, there are four hand made original style docking buoys.  The windows are plastic for safety reasons.   The model is set on a mahogany stand approximately 35” by 10½” wide.  All mahogany is stained with original CC color stain.  This model has two electric motors, is radio control equipped, with engine sound system, horn, lights, water pumping exhaust, etc.  No more of these models are available.
